The Centre organized a three-week summer workshop on The Philosophy of Husserl, Heidegger, and Sartre from 21 February to 15 March 2001 in the Department of Philosophy, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry. The programme attracted a large number of students as well as members of faculty pursuing research in the area of phenomenology. The workshop was sponsored by Center for Advanced Research in Phenomenology (CARP), USA.The conference was held in the Academic Staff College, Pondicherry University. The programme, which lasted for three weeks, was funded by UGC through Pondicherry University. Eminent scholars from various fields of study were invited as resource persons. Professor N.
